genre bending
paul morley, nick hornby and others think that all over sampling is a, or the, future for music. i don't quite agree but have to acknowledge it's something rare in being genuinely fresh music and relatively unexplored
opening tracks make me think of the last miles davis album, which fused jazz and hip hop

i've always found that jazz - good or bad - is immediate, where the rest if music needs time and repetition to grow on the listener. this is immediately good
probably cause of the variety of sources, instruments take turn to lead - for example, track4 is led by a nifty bass line - whereas jazz usually has a leading player and instrument
